Selecting A Corner Medicine Cabinet

A corner medicine cabinet is a wonderful way to maximize available space in a small bathroom, while still giving you the storage you need. In addition, by purchasing a bathroom corner medicine cabinet with mirrors, you can create the illusion of more space in the room.

Options for this type of medicine cabinet include the number of doors, lights or no lights, and choice of material. Whichever type you prefer, there is a style out there to meet your needs. Also, be sure to look for corner sink cabinets or corner vanities to save you even more space. Your bathroom may even get larger than you thought it could be.

Doors on a corner medicine cabinet may number anywhere from one to three. On certain styles, the middle door doesn't open, as it is just for decorative purposes. Depending on the amount of space in your room, you can choose any number of mirrors.

Of course, the more doors you have, the more interior space you will have, so it will all depend on your needs. Just be sure to measure and make sure whichever cabinet you choose will fit easily into your bathroom. Common sense will tell you that the more doors a bathroom medicine cabinet has, the more space it will occupy.

Lighting on your bathroom corner medicine cabinet is optional. Many people prefer a well lighted bathroom, especially if is a guest or common bathroom. If it's part of your master bedroom, you may prefer more muted lighting, since that creates a more relaxing setting. Choose what is best for your situation.

Some bathroom corner medicine cabinets offer larger lights across the top, while others offer smaller lights that run down both sides of the cabinet. A few even offer just one big light in the center of the cabinet top. Find one that matches the rest of your decor, and you will be more than satisfied.

Material is a personal preference. If your home is decorated with a country theme, a wooden medicine cabinet would blend right in. On the other hand, if you prefer modern furnishings, chrome or stainless steel may be a better choice.

Consider your entire home when purchasing a bathroom medicine cabinet, even through this may not be a well-traveled room - especially if it's used only for guests. Having a cabinet that doesn't coordinate with the rest of your home decor can be very distracting, as it will stick out like an eyesore.

Choose carefully, and your medicine cabinet will be sure to please.

I don't see how you're going to save any space by putting your medicine cabinet in a corner. I learned in geometry class that length of the legs of a right triangle always add up to MORE than the hypoteneuse. So it has to take up MORE wall space.

Yeah, that's probably why. But I like to check them out also. Sometimes you can find something that you would like to look into, even if they don't have much to do with the article on the page.

I get a kick out of some of those Google ads at the top of the page. Their algorithm for deciding what ads to show sometimes produces weird results. There's an ad up there now for murphy beds. I guess that's because they save space, huh?

Should I Update My Bathroom With a Medicine Cabinet, Or Do the Full Enchilada?

By Alana Tanner
It's the last major room in our house that needs an update. The main upstairs bathroom, the primary for the entire house. It's not really a master bath since it's down the hall from the main bedroom, but it does have the only bathtub and is definitely the biggest bathroom we have.
